Word count
There is a word limit of 500 words. Use your computer to total the number of words used in your assignment. However, do not include the reference list at the end of your assignment in the word count. In-text citations will be included in the additional 10% word count. If you exceed the word limit by more than 10% the marker will stop marking at 500 words plus 10%.
Aim of assessment: The aim of this assessment is to enhance your understanding of the professional obligation for nurses to maintain a portfolio.
Details: You will develop an electronic portfolio (ePortfolio) using the ‘Assessment 2 – ePortfolio’ assigned task in Myshowcase.me (My Knowledge Map (MKM) program) accessed via a link on the vUWS site A Assessment 2 Mb. A minimum of two sections sections/web-pages are required for this assessment, and must include Part A and Part B as part of your submission.
You MUST submit Part A and Part B in MyShowcase.me failure to submit and publish the task will mean your assessment will not be marked.
Part A (100 words)
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) will include a snapshot of who you are and address the following: Name; Contact details; Personal attributes: Academic and/or employment history and Interests.
- Present your visually appealing snapshot on the template provided in the Assessment 2 resources.
Part B (400 words)
Reflection task- you need to consider that you are undertaking your first clinical placement as a 1st year nursing student. Your first clinical placement is on a medical ward. In your own words as a 1st year nursing student, what will be your scope of practice, Include the strategies to achieve compliance with NMBA guidelines.

To submit the ePortfolio students must:
- Submit their ePortolio using the assigned Showcase task in Myshowcase.me and must publish their showcase prior to submission.
- Submit the text into Turnitin for checking academic integrity. Students are to cut and paste the text from their final Myshowcase.me portfolio task into a word version document (.doc or .docx), for submission through Turnitin via the vUWS site. The text in both Myshowcase.me showcase task and Turnitin subrnission must be identical.
