Online Tutoring on Project Management Tools
ASANA and WRIKE
Things have changed over time, and one thing that has changed drastically is technology. The same has affected on our education, most of the students use to hang out with classmates after class to work on group projects, but now it seems like most of the group meetings usually take place in an online environment. There are various tools and software’s available that help you to hangout in a virtual environment. Now that most of the Universities are only operating online because of COVID-19 issues going at present, so we all as students have to attend our classes online and even for our group projects we have to participate online and work in collaboration.
[hbupro_banner id=”6299″]One of the courses that I am studying is digital media, and for this course I had a group project in which I have to form a group of 6 people to be able to work on it. So basically, once the group is formed, had to divide the group in 3 each team. Forming a group and then sub dividing it wasn’t that hard as I initially thought it would be. After forming the group, the next part was to decide on which two software’s to consider for our project and who will take which software to make their videos and work on it. So, what we did, we all initially decided that we all going to have a look on the 4 different options that are available in detail, and then later on we will have a discussion through ZOOM to decide on two particular software to work on.
So, we all did the same, on individual level we all took our time to go through all the software’s like ASANA, Write and others and after a week we all had a group meeting online. The group meeting only lasted for roughly 10 to 15 minutes, as we only discussed about our experiences and what we believe would be interesting software to explore as a group. So at our meeting we decided that we will go with ASANA and Wrike, explore the overall functionality and features that it has to offer.
ASANA is a web-based task management software that has many features to offer to its users. Companies from small to large size, all can use ASANA for their projects to be manage by their teams in an online environment. It not only increases the efficiency of work but it also improves the productivity as well. Better communication among team members can be achieved with very little issues. Various tasks can be grouped together under one title to make it more simplified.
So in short, I would say that the overall working in a group experience turned out to be good. I initially thought that this whole online meeting and online conference thing won’t work among students. As many students won’t show up for their online meetings, but it turned out to be the other way around. As coming online from the comfort of their homes, is a lot easier and save a lot of time as compare to coming to university or meeting up in a café. So, we not only ended up saving a lot of time, but at the same time learned and experience the overall online environment.
We choose the software called WRIKE. For this software, it is a good tool for a company. Wrike is a suite of online project management software that allows employees to work quickly and easily and allows employees from different locations to work together more effectively. Wrike won the 2015 software award for the best management project for Finances Online. There are a lot of features in this software that can be done with just a few mouse clicks.
Wrike is used by many Fortune 500 companies as project management software within their organizations, such as Google, Stanford University, Adobe, HTC, and EA Sports.

[hbupro_banner id=”6296″]Disadvantages of Wrike
× It is an expensive cost for a person or a small group. Although Wrike push out a free plan, it concludes very basic function. The more useful function is a expensive cost. For example, Outlook will delay an inform more than one hours, which users need to open it until receiving message. (ADVISORYHQ)
× Wrike allows users talk work at a specific work environment. Besides, users could not use third parts communication tool.
× Wrike Sizer will hide finished work. When users need to conclude the finished projects, users have to change it by manual operation.
Here are the reasons that why our group recommends the Wrike software.
Firstly, it only has one hub for you to work on. this does not mean it only has one page. Essentially the software offers a 3-page layout and everything you need is already there. you can see the projects in display and in a hierarchy. You can move from one phase to another of your tasks seamlessly while knowing where everyone is already at. You can also immediately address the issues because you can see all of them and note the red flags.
Secondly, what is unique about this software is that it has excellent security features. It has its patent enterprise-grade audit reports, Internal and external risks are assessed and whenever changes are to be made, reports are also generated. Permission is secured for every operation, so it is hard for data breaches in the first place.
Lastly, this can be synced to all your email platforms, particularly Gmail and Google drive so you do not have to jump from one app to another. It’s like having a very organized assistant with you all the time.
