Background:

 The 350.org campaign is working for a clean and green future in the world. Its main objective is to have a future that is safe from the negative impacts of climate change (350.org, 2008). The organization addresses the problem that is climate change and how it will affect the world if the countries do not stop the use of fossil fuels and stop the industries from emitting hazardous gases. According to United Nations Human Rights Council (as cited in Weweinke & Yu, pp. 9, 2010), individuals are the main reason for the need for sustainable development and to have development, the needs of future generations must be met rightfully. The few main Allies of 350.org are Better Future, World Council of Churches, Sierra Club, Rainforest Action Network and many more (350.org, 2008).  

350.org was initiated in 2008 in the USA by a couple of university friends alongside Bill McKibben (author), who wrote The End of Nature which is one of his first books on global warming for the citizens, intending to construct a global climate measure. The campaign 350 was named after the notion of 350 parts per million of carbon dioxide in the environment. (350.org, 2008)

The first few measures are undertaken to raise awareness of global warming to the general public and also to connect stakeholders and organizations under the same platform around the globe that includes the International Day of Climate Action in 2009, the Global Work Party in 2010, Moving Planet in 2011 (350.org, 2008). In 2012 this campaign raised awareness among the students to pressurize the universities to invest in fossil fuel companies (Schifeling & Hoffman, 2017). The organization rapidly became a worldwide association of organizers, public groups and general public fighting for the near future. 

The vision of 350.org is to have a quick shift to 100% renewable and green energy for all the humans in the world which can be fulfilled through encouraging those energy solutions which are supported by the people. It also aims to work on banning the use of fossil fuels in the industrial areas that is a ban on the use of oil, coal and natural gas ventures and instead use renewable resources for these ventures. Last but not the least they are working rigorously to stop the governments and other stakeholders to fund, invest and sponsor the fossil fuel organizations (350.org, 2008).
