Title: Theories and early childhood pedagogies for children’s communication, language and literacy development

Length: 1800 words (900 words per task)

Learning outcomes: 1 and 4 For this assessment:

1. Read the readings for weeks one (1) and two (2) and write two (2) short pieces of academic writing in response to each research
2. Contributions should have a short introduction, a body and a short
3. Contributions should be 900 words
4. All contributions should be referenced to relevant readings and research and be professionally

Assessment 1: Research Task 1

Communication, language and literacy learning are underpinned by theoretical perspectives. Discuss the importance of language theories when teaching communication, language and literacy in early childhood.

Assessment 1: Research Task 2

Examine the pedagogical choices early childhood teachers employ to promote the development of communication, language and literacy.

Your assessment should show evidence that you have read widely on the topic beyond the supplied readings and texts. Your assessment must use correct referencing, in APA 7^th style.
