This assignment gives your opportunity to:

  • Formulate your understanding of technology and communication strategies in business setting
  • Research, analyse and evaluate collected data
  • Work as a group to accomplish the task
  • Synthesize your reading of the relevant literature into a coherent discussion
  • Apply theories in explaining your arguments

TASKS:

Select ONE of the Australian industries/ businesses (you can use one of the companies in the list below or choose your own). To what extent technology helps your company advertise the name and products.

Part A: Presentation (50%)

Each group has 10 minutes to present your work and 5 minutes to answer questions. In your presentation, you should:

  • Give brief introduction about your chosen company (founder, history, focus, )
  • How products of your company are promoted in both online and offline channels
  • Make sure that all group members have opportunities to participate in the presentation
  • Ensure to turn on your camera during you and your group’s presentation

Part B (1800 - 2000 words): Report (40%)

Report your group findings and discussion about your company and how electronic communication channels help in developing its name and your products.

In group’s report, you should:

  • Elicit background information about chosen company
  • Discuss on how your product is promoted through online and offline channels (the role of technology, social media platforms in attracting, influencing, maintaining, satisfying customers)

Part C (500 - 700words): Peer-evaluation (10%)

Each group member reports on the procedure of your group work, evaluate the contribution of other members and score their effectiveness based on 10-scale scheme.

For example, if you think that member A actively participates in group performance, you give A 10/10. Meanwhile, member B does not attend group meeting, does not put effort into group work, you score B 4/10.

WORD LIMIT: 2500-2700 words (not including the reference list)

FORMAT:

Your group’s report must be well organized and presented clearly. Font: Times New Roman, size: 12, line spacing: 1.5 REFERENCING:

Your group’s report is required to consist at least 10 additional readings. Be aware of

following strictly Harvard style format in both in-text reference and reference list.

GRADING CRITERIA:

  • Provide background information about chosen organization/ business
  • Provide which electronic communication channels are used and discuss their role
  • Demonstrate:
    • A clear understanding of the key concepts raised in the assignment task
    • An understanding of relevant literature
    • Ability to apply related theories in explaining arguments
  • Indicate groupwork performance
  • Present accurate, clear and concise academic writing
  • Follow Harvard referencing style. Make sure that all sources appeared in your writing will have to be
