MGT3HRD – Assessment 2: Group Human Resource Development Training Plan

The purpose of this assignment is for your group to plan, design and evaluate a training program.

You are a management consultant, and you have been engaged by A & J university. The private university currently has over 50 campuses in metropolitan and regional areas of Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide.  The Vice-Chancellor, Ali Jas, has asked you to develop a training plan which can be administered across all the campuses, and also in its Melbourne main campus.

Your task is to:

  1. Develop a detailedproposal for the training plan, based on one of the topics below.  The training plan should include:
  2. a)        A titleand overall descriptionof the plan
  3. b)       Provide a minimum of 3training objectives. Please provide justifications/rationales for the objectives using appropriate academic articles.
  4. c)        Thetraining methodsto be used and the rationale for using these methods (including a discussion of the principles using academic articles on which the selection of training methods is based).
  5. d)       a tentative lesson plan for the delivery of one module in your training session.
  6. e)       a list, brief description and justifications of training materialsyou will use to deliver your training. Please provide justifications/rationales with examples for each training materials that you have chosen using academic articles. 
  7. f)         a program evaluation plan. Evaluation should be done at both the reactionand learning  Please provide justifications/rationales with examples for each evaluation using academic articles. 

 

Topics include:

  1. Leadership Training Program (a training program for Academic and Professional staff members)
  2. A toolkit for giving and receiving better staff feedback (a training program for professional staff members or managers)
  3. Managing a team (a training program for managers)
  4. Managing student mental health and wellbeing (a training program for Academic and Professional staff members)
  5. Creating a more inclusive workplace for employees with disabilities (a training program for professional staff members or managers)
  6. Creating a more inclusive classroom environment between domestic and international students (a training program for academic staff members)

 

You MUST consult & reference a minimum of ten (10) academic articles to support your analysis. You must use either APA or Harvard Referencing System.  It is recommended that you consider the following publications to identify relevant articles:  Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Learning & Education, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Human Resource Development Quarterly, Human Resource Management, Human Resource Planning, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Development, Journal of Management Education, Journal of Organizational Behavior and Management Learning.

 

Length: The total length is between 5,200 and 6,500 words (+/- 10%) (Reference list and title page are excluded from the word count) Weighting:  30% of your total mark
