SUS202 Communicating Sustainability - Assignment Help

Your task

To apply the principles of sustainability communication to produce an infographic that communicates the important dimensions and/or process of a sustainability issue in a concise and effective visual format.

Step 1.

Select a sustainability issue and decide on your communication goals and target audience in relation to the issue. To identify the target audience, you will need to consider who can make the changes/undertake the actions that you are seeking? You may also wish to consider those audiences that have been previously marginalized and excluded from previous communications or representations of the issue.

Step 2.

Research your issue in sufficient detail to develop and illustrate the message(s) you wish to convey to your target audience. At this point, you may wish to redefine your communication goals and target audience based on your enhanced understanding of the issue. The infographic format tends to limit the number of references displayed – it is essential that all of your references are relevant, high quality and credible.

Develop your infographic by working through the worksheet table. Bring it to the workshops to discuss with your peers.

  • Order your material (i.e. a combination of text and graphics) in a logical and effective format— you may find it useful to develop a ‘storyline’ or to draw on elements of the narrative arc to present your You may also find ways to visually compare different data sets or ideas to persuasively illustrate your message.
  • Complete your infographic with a list of references consistent with the accepted infographic format, e. superscript number in text corresponding to a numbered reference list at the bottom or somewhere else on the infographic where it does not detract from the messages.
